Methodology
ITC (Intelligent Thread Calculation) provides a scientific and consistent mathematical solution to the need for accurate assessment of “Thread Demand”.
ITC operates either as a stand-alone software package or as a fully integrated module within GSD Enterprise and GSD QUEST.
Using the variables of stitch classification, stitch density, width of bite (where appropriate), material thickness, seam length and end-of-seam wastage, ITC calculates Thread Demand, in metres, for each individual stitching operation in a given product. Specific threads (with their associated costs) are then allocated by needle and by looper to each operation, subsequently providing a comprehensive analysis of the Thread Demand and Cost for the given operation.
Each stitching operation is associated to a product or “style”, with the ability to allocate order quantity to the style, which is then used as a multiplier to calculate total Thread Demand and Cost for each operation, total Thread Demand and Cost for a single product and for a full production order.
When ITC is used as a stand-alone package, the variables above are easily and quickly input, primarily by “drop down” data selection. Complete products or styles may be stored and later retrieved and modified where style variation is required. Data may also be stored at “feature” level (e.g. pockets, cuffs, collars...) so that commonly used design features may be compiled and used on multiple products/styles.
When ITC is integrated with GSD Enterprise or GSD QUEST, the same functionality is available but the GSD users benefits in that all major variables are automatically posted from the GSD Operation Analyses, thereby making ITC a “data–rich” package with minimal input required by the end user.
Comprehensive Print Reports are available within ITC and the predefined Data Export routine facilitates data transfer to third party software.
